MBCA offers a full architectural service from design through to completion of the building programme:
Design Brief
Our dedicated design service starts with an initial meeting with the client to discuss individual requirements, which enables us to draw up a detailed design brief and fee proposal. We carry out research into any planning constraints on the property and are able to offer advice based on our thorough knowledge of local Planning and Conservation issues.
Measured Survey
The next step is to carry out a measured survey of the site and draw up existing plans, elevations & sections using Computer Aided Design software.
Feasibility Studies / Design Drawings / 3-D Sketches
Having analysed the brief, our initial scheme – comprising proposed plans and elevations – will enable the client to visualize the proposed space. The skilled design team at MBCA, including architects and architectural technicians, is also able to produce 3-D sketch ideas using CAD software.
Planning Submission
Following on from the design stage we offer a full Planning Application / Lawful Development Application service, to include existing and proposed plans, elevations & sections and, if necessary, Design & Access Statements for projects involving Listed Buildings or those carried out within local Conservation Areas, liaising with specialist Planning Consultants should the need arise.
Building Control Submission
Once Planning Approval has been gained, we will prepare additional information in liaison with Structural and Service engineers to obtain Building Control approval prior to commencement of building works.
Tender documentation
We can create a full specification for tendering purposes, to ensure that the budget needs are met and that contractors have the information they need to give a fixed price for the proposed works.
Project Management / Site inspection services/ Contract Valuations & Certification
On site our services can extend to a full Project Management contract, taking the pressure off the client and ensuring that the works are carried out to our precise specification. We provide full liaison with the contractor and the Building Control Inspector to ensure that the project will be completed on time, on budget and meeting all the required building standards.
